PRESS RELEASE:  Peoples Telecommunications, LLC is now among the first providers to bring Gigabit Internet service to rural Kansas

Peoples Telecommunications, LLC is excited to announce they are now one of the first rural providers in Kansas to offer Gigabit Internet services to their residential and business customers.  Peoples is able to offer this service through their Fiber-to-the-home network in LaCygne, KS.

According to Gigcommunities.net “Gigabit broadband delivers 100x faster Internet speeds than traditional broadband, creating a next generation broadband experience that has no rival.”

In addition to Gigabit Internet services Peoples has also launched new incredibly fast Internet packages, ranging from 10 Mbps up to 100 Mbps. Residential customers can purchase additional upload for those households that have multiple users accessing the Internet at the same time or enjoy online gaming. Peoples is now also offering symmetrical Internet plans to meet the specific needs of their business customers.

Announcing 2017 Peoples Telecommunications, LLC Scholarship and
2017 FRS College Scholarship Program

Peoples Telecommunications, LLC (“PTL”) is proud to offer five (5) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to five students who either are students attending Prairie View High School (USD 362) or whose parents or guardians are customers of PTL.

Also available through Peoples Telecommunications, LLC, is the ability to apply for scholarship through the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS). Established in 1994, FRS, in cooperation with NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association, seeks to sustain and enhance the quality of life throughout rural America by advancing an understanding of rural telecommunications issues. In keeping with its mission, furthering the education of rural youth is one of the foundation’s primary focuses. Our company, Peoples Telecommunications, LLC, is a member of NTCA and is proud to support FRS in this worthwhile endeavor.

As your local telecommunications service provider, it is our pleasure to offer this national scholarship program to the students in your school. Should a student from our service area be selected to receive one of the $2,000 scholarships, we will contribute an additional $500, bringing the total one-time scholarship award to $2,500. Students who are majoring in math, science, engineering or medicine are given preference for the FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships. Students who are majoring in math, science, engineering or medicine are given preference for the FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships. In addition to the FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarship, students may also be eligible for one of four FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships valued at $5,000 each, or one of two $1,500 TMS Scholarships or one $7,000 Everett Kneece Return to Rural America Scholarship.

The FRS scholarship application can be downloaded from the FRS Web site at http://www.frs.org/youth-programs/college-scholarship-program. Completed applications should be returned to Kathy Billinger, no later than Monday, February 27, 2017 noon. Applications postmarked after this date will not be accepted. Please note that each application must bear my signature to be considered eligible. We will submit the application on the students’ behalf.

The students are eligible to receive ours or any of the other scholarship offers. If the student wishes to be considered for the PTL scholarship only, please have them complete the PTL application-click here.

Please be sure the student completes the current application. Deadline for just the PTL scholarship will be no later than April 28, 2017.

Please help us make this opportunity a success by ensuring that all eligible students have an opportunity to apply. It is extremely important that the applicant sign their application. Unsigned applications will not be considered.
